How to Not Fry Your Pedals and Power supply
What many people do not know is if you have a power supply to power your pedalboard, you can fry your gear. This can happen if you do not use batteries. Some people have systems in place to prevent those things. When you let a professional set up your pedalboard they will often put those procedures in place. However, many will not have these protocols in place and because of this some of your guitar pedals and gear can get ruined. π³
How does this happen?
If the 9v connector does not have a battery connected to it and it makes contact with the metal casing, it can potentially fry many things. This is because there is electricity mixing with metal. Pedals are normally made of metal and because of this it can cause problems. Last I checked, electricity and metal do not mix very well. This problem is rare and your chances of doing this are like winning the lottery but why take that chance right? π€ There are some pedal brands that prevent this from even happening. Boss pedals are one of these. If you use a boss pedal, they prevent this from even happening. Good job Boss! π π
