Him Only Shall You Serve

“GO AWAY SATAN! FOR IT IS WRITTEN, ‘YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD, AND HIM ONLY SHALL YOU SERVE’.“MATT. 4:10
Good morning,
Are we worshiping God? And we’re not talking about going to church on Sundays and Wednesdays. We mean, are we worshiping God only and always? He is here. Just how important is worship? Worship is at the heart of the Devil’s rebellion. He tempted Jesus with the entire world in exchange for His worship, but Jesus would only worship God for worship is commanded by God for Him alone. The devil offers us the things of the world in exchange for worshipping him; straight up bowing down and worshiping him. Sinning is to worship the devil.
There is no greater need than the one need that Jesus met while He was dying. The origin of this great need was birthed in our disobedience to God, which is sin. We cannot sin or be in sin and worship God. We must be cleansed first. Jesus meets the greatest of all our needs, providing us salvation in His name, via repentance (cleansing) and faith. He became the narrow gate and the straight way, calling us to follow just as He called the first disciples.
The first thing He did in Matthew 10 after calling the 12 to Himself was to give them authority. They were given authority to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, and cast out demons. (Matthew 10.1, 7.)
“And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.”
“And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
Don’t miss the authority given by Christ because there are many false teachers in the church today who readily dole out responsibility but withhold the authority that Christ gave to His disciples. The authority of Christ that raises the dead and heals the sick is the same authority given to each as a means of escape when temptation comes. Too many of us have believed their lies living under the weight of responsibilities to do this and keep that but denying us the power of Christ’s authority. Worship Him only! This authority can be found in none other and is not given by men but by Jesus Christ our Lord. Believe the words of Jesus. He gives it freely, so freely give it. (Matthew 10.8.)
“Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”
Freely give Him our worship now!
Grace and peace in Christ,
<><Daniel
